Twice yealry Talladega, Alabama becomes one of the largest cities in the state for two days filled with some of the fastest and most competitve racing on the largest oval track in the world, the 2.66 mile Talladega Superspeedway with its 33 degree banking in the corners and 43 car freight train of restrictor plate stock cars that will pin your spleen to your spin when they pass by. It is hot, dirty, loud and smells of burned rubber and exhaust. There are few better places to be in April and October...

Dale Jarret Driving Adventure
On August 5, 2007 I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to drive a 600 hp NASCAR Stock Car for 10 laps at Talladega, having received the chance as a gift for my 40th birthday. After going through instruction and driver education, I suited up in a Nomex fire suit and climbed aboart a Robert Yates Racing Ford to turn my fastest lap at 168.93 miles per hour. Or, put another way,..."Stupid Fast"
